Whether you're aiming to compete, refine skills for your school dance team, pursue choreography, or simply love to dance and want to grow with purpose and authenticity, we have a spot for you!
We offer a variety of genres to provide dancers with a versatile and well-rounded dance education. For information and a description of each of the dance classes we offer, click the link below!
PROMPTNESS: Being on time is important! Please make every effort to arrive to class before your class starts, get your things put away, and be warming up.
DRESS CODE: Clothes that are easy to move in are all that is required for dance attire in class. The exceptions are Ballet, Ballroom, and Hip-Hop.
COMPETITION TECH: This class requires you to bring a journal of some kind
FIT & FLEX: Certain work-out equipment is necessary. You will be provided a list of what is needed following registration for this class
EATING/DRINKING: There is no eating or drinking allowed while in the studio itself. You may eat in the dressing areas and/or in the front office area. It is expected that you clean up after yourself.
CELL PHONES: Cell phones are not allowed during instruction time. These are a distraction for other students and can lead to issues amongst students that we do not want to have. You may keep your cell phone in your bag in the dressing room & if you need to call home, you may ask your instructor. If there is a dance you would like to record, you may also ask your instructor to be able to do that.

To register for classes, we charge a one-time, non-refundable $50 registration fee per student.

Tuition is paid monthly. Accounts are invoiced on the first of the month and payment is due on the 5th of the month.
We offer sibling discounts! For the second child registered, you receive a 10% discount on monthly tuition. For the third child (and every subsequent child) registered for, you receive a 20% discount on monthly tuition.
This class focuses on developing acrobatic skills, such as flips, handstands and other dynamic movements, seamlessly integrated into dance choreography. Dancers will enhance their strength, flexibility, and body control while learning to execute tricks safely and effectively. This class emphasizes proper technique, encouraging students to push their physical limits while expressing themselves through movement.
Dress Code: Dance attire that allows for free movement
This specialized program enhances flexibility and strength through targeted exercises, improving performance and pushing physical limits. Combining renowned programs like the Godfrey Method, Farfalla Method, Dance Labs, and BodyBreakers, students learn techniques used by elite dancers and athletes. Using equipment such as blocks, weights, and stretch bands, they build strength for leaps, turns, and tricks, increase stamina, and improve control in key areas like hips, abs, and upper body. Regular attendance and at-home practice will lead to stronger dancers with higher jumps, greater flexibility, and reduced injury risk. A supplies list will be provided for optimal results.
Modern dance is an expressive style that emerged as a response to classical ballet, emphasizing creativity, individual expression, and freedom of movement. It incorporates floor work, improvisation, and partnering, using the entire body for fluid, sharp, and percussive movements. Mastering modern dance enhances artistic expression, body dynamics, and versatility, boosting a dancer's resume and career potential.
Dress Code: Dance attire that allows for free movement
Jazz dance is a high-energy style combining technique and expression, with sharp movements, strong lines, and fluid transitions. It blends classical jazz with hip-hop, funk, and contemporary styles, including grooves, isolations, kicks, turns, and popping/locking. In class, students build strength, flexibility, and coordination while learning both Jazz technique and choreographed routines focused on style and musicality. Strong jazz skills are key for success in competitive and professional dance.
Dress Code: Dance attire allowing free movement (tennis shoes for Jazz Funk).
Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles, emphasizing discipline, technique, and alignment to enhance lines, turnout, and body placement. We offer level-specific ballet classes, with Level 1 students attending one-hour sessions and Levels 2 & 3 attending 1.5-hour sessions. Additionally, our Level 2 & 3 students can take Ballet Burn, which rotates with Jazz for a dynamic and varied experience.
Dress Code: Black leotard, pink or nude tights, and ballet shoes. Hair should be secured neatly in a bun. No jewelry, except for small stud earrings.
Lyrical dance blends ballet and contemporary styles, focusing on technical skill and emotional storytelling through movement. It emphasizes fluidity, grace, and the connection between music and dance, allowing dancers to interpret lyrics and moods.
Often featured at conventions, lyrical dance is essential for well-rounded training. In class, students will develop technique, flexibility, and emotional expression, while learning to connect personally with the music and their movements.

Having originated from street culture and urban communities, hip-hop is a dynamic and expressive style that is characterized by its rhythmic movements and improvisational elements. It encompasses a variety of styles including breaking, locking, and popping. Mastering this style will enhance versatility and movement quality and it is essential for competitive dance and commercial careers.

Our Competition Tech Class is a student favorite and focuses on the mental aspects of dance to build confidence, resilience, and performance strategies. This class addresses the mental toll of competitive dance through techniques such as journaling, goal setting, team building, mindfulness, and effective communication.
YAS is committed to supporting the mental well-being of dancers and other competitive athletes, recognizing that mental resilience is just as important as technical skill. In addition to personal growth, students will receive individualized feedback to refine their technique and performance.
Requirements: Journal
This class goes beyond technique to focus on the creation and performance of actual concert works, often with a specific narrative or thematic concept. The goal is to prepare students for performance settings, providing them with the opportunity to learn and rehearse choreographed pieces that are meant for public performance. These classes involve not only technical development but also an understanding of the artistic process, storytelling through movement, and performance preparation.
Dress Code: Dance attire that allows for free movement.
Emphasis is placed on rhythm, timing, coordination, intricate footwork, and improvisation. A solid tap foundation is crucial for success in dance, helping students develop strong musicality and the ability to feel the rhythm of the music. It is also an essential skill needed to be successful at dance conventions.
Dress Code: Tap Shoes (color choice is optional).
Contemporary Dance is a versatile and expressive style that blends elements of ballet, modern dance, jazz, and improvisation. It emphasizes storytelling, creativity, expression, and the exploration of the human experience. It incorporates movements ranging from fluid and lyrical to sharp and abrupt. The focus of this class is to build the dancers technical skills, flexibility, strength and emotional expression through various exercises and movement sequences. Classes may include floor work, partnering, and improvisation.
Dress Code: Dance attire that allows for free movement.
A high-energy, full body workout that combines the grace and technique of ballet with the intensity of strength training and cardio workouts. This class uses a variety of exercises to sculpt, tone, and lengthen your muscles, while also improving flexibility, balance, and stamina. It incorporates classic ballet movements along with core-strengthening exercise and cardio bursts to elevate your heart rate.
Expect to explore pliés, tendus, and jumps, all while incorporating resistance training and bodyweight exercises. This class will leave you feeling strong, energized and toned! No dance experience necessary - just bring your energy and enthusiasm!
Requirement: Resistance bands and weights, Dance attire that allows for free movement.
Ballroom dance is defined by its precise footwork, elegant upper body technique, and emphasis on posture, musicality, and fluid movement. Dancers will master intricate footwork, turns, and expressive arm movements, using these elements to tell a story through dance.
Students will study both classic Ballroom styles, including the Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Quickstep, as well as Latin styles like the Rumba, Cha-Cha, Samba, and Jive. Training in Ballroom dance enhances versatility and adds valuable skills to a dancer's resume, making them more well-rounded performers.
Dress Code: Ballroom Shoes (ballroom attire is optional).
Our Convention Readiness class prepares students for success in the competitive dance world and entertainment industry. It focuses on the skills needed for conventions, competitions, and auditions, including versatility, adaptability, and performance quality. Students learn quick choreography, improve stage presence, and build stamina, confidence, and professionalism under pressure.
Occasionally, guest teachers offer expert insights, and the class covers personal branding, social media marketing, and leveraging these tools for career opportunities.
This class is ideal for dancers pursuing a professional career, auditioning for teams, or expanding their presence in the performance arts. Open to all dancers, regardless of their foundational training, it provides a competitive edge in the industry.
This class focuses on mastering the essential elements of leaps and turns, crucial for dancers in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and more. Through targeted exercises and drills, students will develop strength, control, and flexibility while learning a range of leaps, such as grand jetés and sauté, and turns like pirouettes and fouettés. The class emphasizes proper alignment, spotting techniques, and safe landings to ensure movements are both powerful and precise.

DANCERS WILL LEARN QUICK COMBOS IN CLASS TO PROVIDE THEM WITH A COMPETITIVE EDGE IN AUDITIONS AND CONVENTIONS. TEACHING IN THIS WAY PUSHES OUR STUDENTS, BUILDS ON CHOROEGRAPHY RETENTION, AND ENSURES EXTREME GROWTH!
